Transparency International takes legal action against former chapter in Croatia

Transparency International has taken legal action against the organisation Davorka Budimir is chairing to prevent her and the organisation using Transparency International's name and logo in public without the consent of Transparency International.

The case is with the Croatian courts.

In 2015 the Transparency International Board of Directors first informed the then Transparency International chapter in Croatia of its decision to disaccredit it as a member of the Transparency International movement. The final decision was communicated in March 2016.

However, it has come to our attention that Davorka Budimir has continued to use the Transparency International name even though she is no longer affiliated with Transparency International.

We reiterate that neither she nor any other person in Croatia is currently in the position to use of the name “Transparency International” under any circumstances. Following the disaccreditation, TI Hrvatska is not allowed to use the name or logo in any word combination.
