Media Advisory: It belongs to you - Public information in the Middle East & North Africa reports launch

Transparency International is set to launch a series of reports and a web documentary assessing access to information legislation across the Middle East and North Africa.

It belongs to you: Public information in the Middle East & North Africa will examine the potential to access information in order to detect and address corruption under existing laws in Egypt, Morocco, Palestine and Yemen.

The reports will be launched on 21 September 2013 at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Rabat (Morocco) starting at 9:00am - all media are welcome to attend the event.

The reports and web documentary will look at the ability to access information across the diesel, health and justice sectors.

Egypt and Morocco have laws that bar public officials from disclosing information and these reports recommend that governments across the region legislate and implement access to information laws in the interest of keeping governments accountable with taxpayers’ money.
