MEDIA ADVISORY: Transparency International fighting corruption at the Summit of the Americas

Transparency International fighting corruption at the Summit of the Americas

A delegation from Transparency International (TI) will participate in the upcoming Summit of the Americas to ensure that anti-corruption is integrated into efforts to face the effects of the economic crisis and ensure equitable prosperity in the hemisphere.

Fifteen years on from the first Summit, TI has analysed the extent to which nine states have delivered on their anti-corruption promises. This analysis of anti-corruption actions by Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Trinidad and Tobago, is based on different indicators, such as progress on anti-corruption conventions and focuses on the level of implementation of the recommendations made by the responsible committee from the Organisation of American States. The report is available in English and Spanish.

The TI delegation at the Summit will be available for interviews on site during the Civil Society Forum on 15 and 16 April and throughout the Summit, until 19 April.

Transparency International is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption.
