Transparency International released a Resolution on the Protection of Whistleblowers

November 2009

Transparency International released the report “Alternative to Silence”, which assesses whistleblower laws in 10 European Union countries

December 2010

Jamaica passed a whistleblower protection law based largely on Transparency International’s international best practices

November 2013

Transparency International releases the report ''Whistleblowing in Europe", assessing whistleblower protection laws in 27 European countries

November 2013

Transparency International publishes the International Principles for Whistleblowing Legislation. They have been shaped by input from whistleblower experts, government officials, academia, research institutes and NGOs from all regions.

March 2018

Transparency International publishes a Best Practice Guide for Whistleblowing Legislation for policy-makers and whistleblowing advocates on how to implement the International Principles for Whistleblower Legislation into national law.

July 2018

The Prospect Magazine awards Transparency International with the Best Economic Think Tank Europe award, for its work on whistleblower protection

October 2019

The EU adopted a Directive on the “Protection of persons reporting on breaches of Union law” that provides strong common minimum standards for the protection of whistleblowers in Europe (many of our recommendations were incorporated, including all our red lines)
