Transparency International’s Vice Chair Akere Muna appointed Sanctions Commissioner for the African Development Bank

Transparency International today congratulated its Vice Chair Akere Muna on his recent appointment as Sanctions Commissioner for the African Development Bank.

In the new part-time position, Muna will head the Sanctions Office during its 3-year pilot phase. The Sanctions Office will play a critical role in ensuring an efficient, effective and fair sanctions process and will have the authority to issue Notices of Sanction to Respondents and to impose sanctions.
