Alexander Papachristou appointed Special Legal Counsel

Transparency International is pleased to announce that Alexander Papachristou has joined the Secretariat (TI-S) as Special Legal Counsel. Reporting to the TI-S Managing Director and the Chair/Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors, he will provide advice and oversight on legal and policy matters related to TI-Secretariat's strategy, management, and key initiatives and engagements. He specifically will address the call by the TI international Board of Directors to develop the TI-S Legal Unit in line with the TI movement's No Impunity strategy.

Alexander Papachristou currently serves as Executive Director of the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice. He will be working with TI-S in parallel with his ongoing work. Alexander is a lawyer admitted to practice in the State of New York and Commonwealth of Massachusetts and previously served as President of the Near East Foundation, Managing Director and General Counsel of NCH Capital, Inc., and Head of the Moscow office of the international law firm of White & Case. He received LLM and JD degrees from Harvard Law School and an AB degree from Princeton University.
