# Promoting the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption: Tools and Tactics URL: https://www.transparency.org/en/publications/promoting-african-union-convention-preventing-combating-corruption Type: Publication or report Published: 2022-07-11 Updated: 2022-10-01 --- 11 July 2022 The Africa Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption (AUCPCC) is a shared roadmap for member states to implement good governance and anti-corruption policies and systems. Over several years, Transparency International chapters in Côte d’Ivoire, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia have developed advocacy tactics to hold governments accountable, calling on them to meet the as yet outstanding commitments in implementation and enforcement of the AUCPCC in four areas: money laundering, illicit enrichment, political party funding and civil society and media. This toolkit collection documents those advocacy tactics so that other civil society organisations in Africa can replicate them in their own anti-corruption campaigning work. It is part of a larger package of materials produced within the project [Towards Enforcement of African Commitments Against Corruption](https://www.transparency.org/en/projects/enforcement-of-african-commitments-against-corruption). Each toolkit focuses on a different tactical area and can be downloaded separately below. ## Additional downloads - [Download '2022 Toolkit Promoting AU Convention Preventing Combating Corruption French' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/2022-Toolkit-Promoting-AU-Convention-Preventing-Combating-Corruption-French.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical area 1 Increase public awareness of the implementation status of African states anti corruption commitments' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/Tactical-area-1.-Increase-public-awareness-of-the-implementation-status-of-African-states%E2%80%99-anti-corruption-commitments.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical area 1 French' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/Tactical-area-1-Increase-public-awareness-of-the-implementation-status-of-African-states-anti-corruption-commitments.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical area 2 Empower African civil society organisations to effectively engage in anticorruption activities' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/Tactical-area-2.-Empower-African-civil-society-organisations-to-effectively-engage-in-anticorruption-activities.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical Area 2 French' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/TI_Tactical-Area-2-FR-web.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical area 3 Strengthen the capacities of media partners to monitor the implementation of anti corruption commitments and demand accountability' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/Tactical-area-3.-Strengthen-the-capacities-of-media-partners-to-monitor-the-implementation-of-anti-corruption-commitments-and-demand-accountability.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical Area 3 French' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/TI_Tactical-Area-3-FR-web.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical area 4 Strengthen anti corruption institutions and anti corruption work by public authorities' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/Tactical-area-4.-Strengthen-anti-corruption-institutions-and-anti-corruption-work-by-public-authorities.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical area 4 French' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/TI_Tactical-Area-4-FR-web.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical area 5 Advocate for legal reforms in the domestication of the AUCPCC' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/Tactical-area-5.-Advocate-for-legal-reforms-in-the-domestication-of-the-AUCPCC.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical Area 5 French' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/TI_Tactical-Area-5-FR-web.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical area 6 Monitor the AUCPCCs implementation' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/Tactical-area-6.-Monitor-the-AUCPCC%E2%80%99s-implementation.pdf) - [Download 'Tactical Area 6 French' \[PDF\]](https://files.transparencycdn.org/images/TI_Tactical-Area-6-FR-web.pdf) ### Related publications ## [Monitoring political finance: Compendium of citizen initiatives and good practices](https://www.transparency.org/en/publications/monitoring-political-finance-compendium-of-citizen-initiatives-and-good-practices) Publication • 18 August 2026 This compendium aims to provide ideas for stakeholders interested in monitoring political finance.
