This guide is a product of the Transparency International Women, Land and Corruption in Africa project implemented by our chapters in Ghana, Uganda and Zimbabwe between 2014 and 2016. The project has enhanced our national and international research and advocacy by showing how land corruption impacts women’s land rights and communities’ food security. ## Errata Note: After noticing a small error in the photo caption on page 15, we uploaded a corrected version of this report on 3 March 2017. ### Related publications ## [Regional Assessment of Integrity in Political Finance in South Asia, Southeast Asia and East Asia](https://www.transparency.org/en/publications/integrity-political-finance-asia) Publication • 03 September 2026 This report reviews systems across 17 countries to identify the areas of political finance most in need of reform. ## [Connecting the Dots: How financial intelligence units expose corrupt money flows and how they could do more](https://www.transparency.org/en/publications/connecting-the-dots) Publication • 24 June 2026 Financial intelligence units can play a key role in uncovering corruption, but only if they have the powers, resources and access to information they need. ## [Whistleblowing Authorities in Europe: Roles, challenges and lessons learned](https://www.transparency.org/en/publications/whistleblowing-authorities-in-europe-roles-challenges-and-lessons-learned) Publication • 19 June 2026 This report examines the institutional design, mandates and functioning of national whistleblowing authorities across Europe. ## [Corruption fighters' toolkit: civil society experiences and emerging strategies](https://www.transparency.org/en/publications/corruption-fighters-toolkit-civil-society-experiences-and-emerging-strategi) Publication • 15 August 2002 ## Priorities - [Land corruption](https://www.transparency.org/en/our-priorities/land-corruption) - [Gender](https://www.transparency.org/en/our-priorities/gender-and-corruption) ## Countries - [Ghana](https://www.transparency.org/en/countries/ghana) - [Uganda](https://www.transparency.org/en/countries/uganda) - [Zimbabwe](https://www.transparency.org/en/countries/zimbabwe) ## Projects - [Land corruption in Sub-Saharan Africa](https://www.transparency.org/en/projects/land-corruption-sub-saharan-africa) ![](https://images.transparencycdn.org/images/2017_LandandCorruptionGenderGuide_EN_116.jpg?auto=compress&fit=crop&fm=webp&w=1200) [Download](https://images.transparencycdn.org/images/2017_LandandCorruptionGenderGuide_EN.pdf)
