Mexico
Mexico demonstrates little to no enforcement against companies bribing abroad. Although it accounts for 2 per cent of global exports, it only opened three investigations and no cases of foreign bribery from 2016 until 2019. The country closed no cases with sanctions during this time.
While Mexico makes enforcement information publicly available, this information is neither complete nor updated. There is also no central register for beneficial ownership information. However, different decentralised registries contain information for identifying beneficial ownership data and relevant authorities have access to them upon request.
