Hungary

Little or none Enforcement level
0 Investigations opened

Hungary demonstrates little to no enforcement against companies bribing abroad. Hungary makes up 0.5 per cent of global exports and neither opened nor concluded any investigations or cases between 2016 and 2019 nor did it conclude any cases with sanctions.

Hungary is one of four countries that declined in enforcement since our last report. An OECD report in June 2019 revealed that the country has not initiated any foreign bribery investigations in more than nine years. While the Ministry of Interior records some anti-bribery enforcement related data, it is only available upon request and there is no central beneficial ownership information register.
