Where are the corruption hotspots, and where is corruption being overcome?

The TI Corruption Perceptions Index 2003, to be released on 7 October, will include a record 133 countries

The Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index 2003 will be launched in London on 7 October 2003. The CPI measures the degree to which corruption is perceived to exist among public officials and politicians in a given country.

The CPI is a composite poll and draws on 17 surveys from 13 independent institutions. The surveys were carried out among business people and country analysts, both local and expatriate, during the period 2001 -2003, and no country has been included in the CPI without results from a minimum of three surveys.
