Secret companies and opaque corporate ownership structures allow corrupt businesspeople and politicians to hide their stolen wealth. It is, therefore, in Switzerland’s interest – both as a country and a financial hub – to pursue robust policies in relation to international corruption which often has links to organised crime. Switzerland should not offer opportunities for the corrupt to get away with it. At the press conference, de Swardt and Martin will discuss upcoming Swiss legislation related to money laundering and secret company ownership. **Who:** Cobus de Swardt, Managing Director, Transparency International Eric Martin, Chair, Transparency International Switzerland **Where:** Room Haller, Hotel Kreuz Zeughausgasse 41 Bern, Switzerland **When:** Tuesday, 2 September 2014 11:30am-12:30pm **RSVP:** Email: info@transparency.ch Tel: 031 382 35 50 Cobus de Swardt will speak in English, Eric Martin in German.
