Corruption imperils democracy; sabotages development progress and stymies economic growth; erodes resilience to health, climatic, and other shocks; and robs citizens of dignity and justice. Yet, the perpetrators and facilitators of these harms often go unpunished. During this event, **USAID Administrator Samantha Power** will lead a dynamic conversation with civil society activists, a government reformer, and investigative journalist on the frontlines of the global fight against corruption. **Transparency International Vice Chair Rueben Lifuka** will also join Administrator Power for this roundtable. Despite the risks and challenges they face, anti-corruption champions like those featured on the panel are making a difference in rooting out corruption in their societies and holding corrupt actors to account. The speakers at the roundtable are: - **Juan Francisco Sandoval Alfaro**, former Chief of the Special Prosecutors Office Against Impunity in Guatemala; - **Achraf Aouadi**, founder of I-Watch (a Tunisian watchdog organisation and chapter of Transparency International); and - **Miranda Patrucic**, Deputy Editor in Chief, Regional and Central Asia of the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). **Media representatives are invited to attend and submit questions in advance during registration or live during the event.** Event: “Frontlines of the Global Fight Against Corruption: A Roundtable with USAID Administrator Samantha Power and Anti-Corruption Champions” Time: Thursday, September 23, 2021 9:30 am EST (15:30 Berlin) Registration: **For any press enquiries, please contact** Transparency International Secretariat T: +49 30 34 38 20 666 E: Transparency International U.S. Office E: ## Advocacy - [Intergovernmental bodies](https://www.transparency.org/en/advocacy/intergovernmental-bodies) ## Regions - [Global](https://www.transparency.org/en/region/global)
