In addition to views of government performance in tackling corruption and the prevalence of corruption in various institutions, citizens were asked about their personal experiences of bribery, sexual extortion, vote-buying and the use of personal connections to access public services. The GCB surveyed nearly 20,000 people in Asia from March 2019 – September 2020. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, most interviews for this survey were conducted via telephone using random digital dialling (RDD) with quota control as a sampling approach.
