# International Anti-corruption Day 2005 URL: https://www.transparency.org/en/news/international-anti-corruption-day Type: News Published: 2005-12-09 Updated: 2022-10-26 --- 09 December 2005 “Today’s survey shows that people believe corruption is deeply embedded in their countries. When a poor young mother believes that her government places its own interests above her child’s, her hope for the future is dampened. Corruption can be rooted out when people join together to change the system that facilitates it,” said Huguette Labelle, Chair of Transparency International. - 2005 Global Corruption Barometer [press release](http://www.transparency.org/news/pressrelease/anti_corruption_organisation_launches_chinese_web_pages1). - UN Anti-Corruption Day [press release](http://www.transparency.org/news/pressrelease/transparency_international_calls_for_stronger_anti_corruption_leadership). ### Anti-corruption media campaign Transparency International’s television advertisement: Think Again! Based on the theme, “Think you can’t fight corruption? Think again,” the ad challenges the view that corruption is inevitable and cannot be fought. It is a stark reminder that corruption has victims. **TV Spot "Think again!" is available in the following languages:** - [Arabic\_version.mov](http://archive.transparency.org/content/download/2098/12546/file/Arabic_version.mov) 5.78 MB - [Chinese\_version.mov](http://archive.transparency.org/content/download/2099/12549/file/Chinese_version.mov) 5.78 MB - [English\_version.mov](http://archive.transparency.org/content/download/2100/12552/file/English_version.mov) 5.79 MB - [French\_version.mov](http://archive.transparency.org/content/download/2101/12555/file/French_version.mov) 5.80 MB - [Spanish\_version.mov](http://archive.transparency.org/content/download/2195/12899/file/Spanish_version.mov) 4.52 MB ### Activities around the world On **December 9** TI National Chapters across all continents will be recognizing the achievements made to date in the fight against corruption as well as the challenges that remain. **Country** **Event** **Contact details** **Albania** Dissemination of posters, media events for GCB and Court Watch Survey.
