Esta guía se basa en las dos principales convenciones anticorrupción vigentes en América: la Convención de la OEA y la de la ONU. Explica su utilidad; describe cómo y por qué promover su ratificación, implementación y el monitoreo intergubernamental, y presenta formas de monitoreo desde la sociedad civil. Asimismo describe brevemente otras convenciones, a saber, la Convención contra el Soborno Transnacional de la OCDE y la Convención de la ONU contra el Crimen Organizado Transnacional.
