eliminating corruption in the education sector

Access to Education should be a right available to all persons, regardless of where they live. However, the ability to receive such education is often dependent upon local realities. For many countries in Africa, corruption in public expenditures, specifically in the education sector, hinders the provision of accessible, quality education for its youth. Helping to eliminate corruption in the education sector will contribute to the achievement of the second UN Millennium Development Goal: Education for All.

TI intends to carry out a three year Education Watch project in six African countries that have been endorsed or invited by the Education for All- Fast Track Initiative (EFA-FTI). The goal is to reduce opportunities for corruption and resource leakage in the education sector through increased public awareness and involvement. Continue to check our projects and activities page for updates on the implementation of this project.
