EITI: four years of success and moving forward
Corruption in natural resource extraction keeps citizens from experiencing the benefits of their country's natural wealth and can lead to conflict, or political and social unrest. The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is designed to monitor and publicise revenue flows between oil, gas and mining companies and their host governments. Four years into the initiative, the first signs of success have emerged.
