The Cátedra programme is an inter-university initiative promoted by TI Colombia and supported by several Colombian higher education institutions. Cátedra supports the ethical development of future professionals by providing pedagogical tools, and by bringing together leaders of public and private organisations, university academics and students.

TI Kazakhstan

TI Kazakhstan has been working on civic education since 2002. A text book entitled “Basics of Preventing Corruption” has been produced for third and fourth year university students, and is available in Kazakh, Russian and English. The book, which is recommended by the ministry of education, is being used in anti-corruption courses offered by law and economics faculties in five Kazakh universities.

TI Papua New Guinea

http://www.transparencypng.org.pg/education_project.htm

Since 1998, TI Papua New Guinea has run an education programme for teachers and pupils. Based on the assumption that teachers must gain an understanding of their own personal values, as well as of their impact as role models on their students, various teacher-training workshops have been conducted throughout the country. The course, entitled “Standing Against Corruption is Your Choice“, aims both at building ethical attitudes and at confronting corruption at school. The teacher training manual and the facilitators’ handbook are available in PDF format.

TI Corruption Fighters’ Tool Kit: Teaching Integrity to Youth

http://www.transparency.org/toolkits/2004/index.html

This special edition of the TI Corruption Fighter’s Tool Kit includes eleven examples of youth education and awareness-raising. Most projects have been conducted by TI national chapters. A colourful and easy read, the booklet is intended to serve as inspiration to civil society organisations interested in promoting ethical values among young people.
