Transparency International Chair, Huguette Labelle, addressed the NATO conference “ Building Integrity and Defence Institution Building”, held on February 26, 2009. The TI speech provides a thorough overview of the corruption challenges faced by the defence sector and identifies concrete measures needed during times of peace and times of conflict. Labelle called for increased transparency in the sector and proposed solutions anchored in the work of TI’s Defence against corruption (DAC) programme. Led by Transparency International (UK), DAC seeks to build integrity and implement anti-corruption measures within governments and the private sector.
