The OECD Anti-Bribery Convention: How much progress in 2008?

Transparency International (TI) will launch the 2008 Progress Report on OECD Convention Enforcement, the fourth in a yearly series that examines and rates the progress of 34 signatory states in enforcing the ban on bribery abroad by their companies.

For the first time, the report will include case studies of investigations into alleged bribing involving: Alstom, the AWB Ltd., BAE Systems, Halliburton, IMPSA and Siemens.

The report will be published on the TI website on Tuesday 24 June at 0700 GMT (0900 CET).

Effective enforcement of the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials is crucial to the fight against international bribing by targeting the supply side of global corruption.
