Media advisory: The 15th International Anti-Corruption Conference

Mobilising People: Connecting Agents of Change. Brasilia, 7 - 10 November 2012

The biennial International Anti-Corruption Conference will take place from 7 -10 November in Brasilia. The four-day event will be opened by President Dilma Rousseff.

As the world’s leading anti-corruption forum, the conference will bring together more than 1500 members of the anti-corruption community, including heads of state, civil society and the private sector. The conference will run more than 50 workshops and plenary sessions under this year’s theme, Mobilising People: Connecting Agents of Change.

The conference will offer innovative perspectives aiming to bring change into 5 key areas: ending impunity, clean climate governance, preventing illicit financial flows, political transitions leading to stable and transparent governments, and clean sports. As an emerging global power and recent host of the Rio+20 Summit as well as the upcoming World Cup and Olympics, Brazil has the potential to contribute to progress in those areas both regionally and globally. In addition to international experts, the Brazilian Ministers of Justice, Sports and Environment will be speaking on those topics.
