Transparency International to hold first in series of Middle East and North Africa Roundtables

Amman, Jordan, Saturday 13 October

Transparency International will hold the first in a series of Middle East & North Africa Regional Roundtables on Saturday 13 October examining the creation of transparent, just and sustainable systems of government in the Arab Region.

The discussions will focus on a call to action urging Arab governments to act swiftly and responsibly toward the creation of comprehensive national and regional anti-corruption reforms.

Speakers and participants include:

• Bothaina Kamel, former Egyptian presidential nominee
• Dr. Nasser Al Sane, Chair of the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption

Arab governments are in political and economic transition. The roundtable seeks to capitalise on this pivotal moment in history and aims to not only deepen the discussions, but also find a consensus among key stakeholders including civil society organisations, government officials, academics, private sector representatives and journalists.

We invite the media to contribute to this important gathering at the Marriott Hotel in Amman on Saturday 13th October as part of a regional effort to effectively raise awareness about anti-corruption.
