Media Advisory: Third Central America and Dominican Republic Forum for Transparency

The Third Central America and Dominican Republic Forum for Transparency will take place in Tegucigalpa, Honduras from 10-11 October. The two-day event will be opened by President Porfirio Lobo.

The third edition of the Forum will bring government, business and civil society together to coordinate measures to eradicate corruption in the region. This year’s Central America and Dominican Republic Forum will focus on some of the region’s key challenges and priorities, especially citizen security, the use of public funds, and social development. Topics such as police reform, transparency in the justice system, and regional compliance with international anti-corruption conventions will also be addressed.

President Lobo will be joined by Alejandro Salas, Regional Director for the Americas at Transparency International, for the opening.

The Forum will bring together diverse participants for the two-day program of events. Speakers will include:
