The anti-corruption organisation, Transparency International-Greece, will publish a report on 29 February evaluating the effectiveness of key Greek institutions against corruption.

The Chairman of Transparency International-Greece (TI–Greece) Mr Costas Bakouris and the Researcher Ms Anna Damaskou will present the Greek National Integrity System (NIS) Report in a Press Conference on:

29 February 2012, 11.30 EET
Auditorium, ALBA Graduate Business School 6-8 Xenias Str., 11528 Athens

Is the Greek crisis only an economic crisis? Could the latter be an opportunity for the revision of failed Greek institutions as a whole? The National Integrity System constitutes a valuable tool towards this direction, as it assesses 12 key institutions (anti-corruption agencies, business, civil society, the electoral management body, executive power, judiciary, legislature, media, Ombudsman, political parties, court of audit, and public administration) with regard to their resistance to corruption and proposes concrete solutions.

Transparency International is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption.

Note to editors: The National Integrity System assessment has been carried out between 1 March 2011 and 15 January 2012, within the framework of the European National Integrity System Project, which is being implemented in 26 European countries. The project has been implemented with the support of European Commission.
