about our national chapters

Argentina

Poder Ciudadano, TI's national chapter in Argentina, was created in 1989. As one of the first organisations in Latin America to join the TI movement, the chapter quickly became a point of reference for the region. The chapter's 'Transparency and Anti-Corruption' division works to develop action plans and tools to promote transparency in public administration, primarily in the areas of public contracting, various stages of budget execution, and ensuring approval of and compliance with International Anti-Corruption Conventions.

In 2007, Poder Ciudadano is monitoring the presidential campaign financing. Since one of the candidates is the wife of the actual President, the foundation is taking a close look into how public resources are being allocated. The chapter is, as well, monitoring how different media is covering the elections.
