TI Ireland elects new Chair and Board of Directors

Dublin, 14 March 2006

Patrick D'Arcy has been elected as Chair of Transparency International Ireland at TI Ireland's first AGM. The head of forensic services with accountants RSM Robson Rhodes spoke of the need to promote integrity within business and government and build an inclusive TI Ireland.

Colm McCarthy, who had led TI Ireland since November 2004 and was stepping down as Chairman, was elected as Treasurer. Noeleen Hartigan, Social Policy and Campaigns Coordinator at the Simon Communities of Ireland was elected as Vice Chair.

Also elected to the board on the night were Dr Louis Brennan, Senior Lecturer of the School of Business, Trinity College Dublin; and Michael Smith, barrister and former Chair of Irish Heritage Group, An Taisce.
