TI Global Corruption Report 2006 highlights corruption in the health sector
Now in its fifth year, the Global Corruption Report 2006 analyses the detrimental impact of corruption on health care systems around the world. Expert authors assess the vulnerabilities to corruption of different types of health care system and recommend ways to prevent huge losses to embezzlement, corruption in the buying of medicines and equipment, and payment fraud. The Global Corruption Report also looks at how the massive marketing spend by pharmaceutical companies can distort decisions that affect health, and raises questions about the approach taken by the international community to the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Rounding out the Global Corruption Report are 45 country reports that take stock of recent corruption-related developments, and a selection of the latest empirical research on corruption.
