Partnerships for Sustainable Development: The Oslo Conference on Good Governance, Social and Environmental Responsibility

The Government of Norway will be hosting a conference on good governance and social and environmental responsibility. Some 300–400 representatives from governments, international institutions, industry, trade unions, civil society and various research institutions are expected to attend. The conference is being jointly organised by business and industry partners, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the UN Global Compact, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Reporting Initiative. The conference delegates will include Achim Steiner, Executive Director of UNEP, Sharan Burrow, President of the International Trade Union Confederation, Björn Stigson, President of the WBCSD, Georg Kell, Executive Head of the UN Global Compact, a number of CEOs and Norway’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs, International Development and the Environment.
