Tracking ALAC Cases
We want people who came to ALAC seeking support to know at what stage of the process their cases are in. We also want to pressure institutions to follow up and resolve cases that have been referred directly to them by ALAC, as well as answer related requests. Currently, institutions do not provide information about cases, resulting in the public's perception that denouncing corruption is useless, and that their cases go unpursued.
This platform will make impunity visible and institutions will know about it. Additionally, the media should have knowledge and access to cases that go unresolved, in hopes that their additional follow up will contribute to creating social pressure to institutions currently ignoring cases. ALAC beneficiaries are people who witness corruption and don’t report it because they do not know how, or do not believe it is worth the effort. This platform will also benefit local organisations who already have well documented cases of corruption, but need counselling in submitting them to the appropriate authorities.
