Youth Community
Based on a 2012 study by TI Hungary young people (between 15-29) don't feel they have the tools, equipment or knowledge they can use against corruption. Given corruption is a large problem for Hungary, we want to develop tools to help educate and provide our youth the concrete support they need to build a transparent future.

With the online tools and visualization platforms which we will start to build, our aim is to encourage youngsters to identify corruption in their everyday lives, and to, in turn, support them in fighting against it. Promoting, scaling up and integrating innovative and sustainable ICT solutions and visualisations in the fight against corruption could benefit not just the youth, but also the adult population.

We will focus on three questions during the workshop; How can youth:

  1. realize corruption in their everyday lives?
  2. understand this is indeed corruption?
  3. feel they have tools to fight against it?

One means of doing this would be through open source platforms built upon during the Hackathon, such as:

  1. an easy-to-use database of everyday stories where you can upload and listen to real stories, so youth can understand and build a database themselves.
  2. make a platform where experts and the public can upload toolkits, stickers or handbooks, such as Flossmanuals.
  3. use our project: SubMap where a city/country or any map can be distorted based on a database.
  4. build an interactive/live public space where you upload and send data regarding corruption, as well as data visualisation.
  5. make a game app for smart phones on  the theme of problems surrounding corruption.
