TI chapter projects

TI National Chapters are enagaged in different activities of relevance for the issue of preventing corruption in development cooperation. In this place we will publish information on such initiatives and projects.

TI Ireland comments to the White Paper on Overseas Development Assistance (2005)
TI Ireland submitted comments to the Development Cooperation Ireland on future development policy. This submission outlines trends in the movement against corruption and makes recommendations based upon these trends.

TI-Norway
TI-Norway has organised several seminars on the Tsunami and the corruption risks related to humanitarian aid in its aftermath.

Other TI activities and programmes

Preventing Corruption in Aid and Development Cooperation is one of the global issues managed by the Global Programmes Department at the TI secretariat in Berlin. The goal of the programme is to increase resources for development purposes. The objectives are to develop good practice in reducing risks of corruption in humanitarian relief, aid and development cooperation. Key areas for the TI work are: policy dialogue with donors, documentation of good practices and development of monitoring tools for civil society. Tsunami Expert Meeting initiated by ADB-OECD and TI (2005)
The Tsunami Expert Meeting on Corruption Prevention in Tsunami Relief took place in Indonesia, Jakarta in April 2005. The meeting was jointly organized by the Asian Development Bank, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Anti-Corruption Initiative for Asia-Pacific, and Transparency International, and was hosted by the Government of Indonesia. The participants recommended a set of principles to prevent corruption in delivering relief and reconstruction assistance to tsunami afflicted areas.
