What to do about Vote Buying

TI Kenya
TI-Kenya conducted a survey of election bribery and voter motivation in October 2002 among 1,956 respondents in nine towns across the country. The two key findings were that though over 50 percent of the voting public would accept money and gifts from electoral candidates; only 10 percent would sell their vote completely. A second study conducted by TI-Kenya of the Mombasa elections found anecdotal evidence that the proceeds of crime were being funneled into political campaigns.
