Russian corruption fighter Alexei Navalny and hundreds more were detained over the weekend during protests against corruption in Moscow. Russia continues to crush civil rights. We join the EU in calling for the release of detained demonstrators and plea for authorities to NOT SHUTDOWN THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE!
Hundreds of people have been arrested in a crackdown in Russia after thousands gathered for massive anti-corruption protests Sunday in the nation's capital, and other demonstrations were held in dozens of cities across the country.
Kem Ley - a prominent Cambodian anti-corruption hero - was murdered in broad daylight. His murderer was convicted yesterday, but no one believes it was actually him. 7 of 10 witnesses were the police – in a country where more than half of the people think the police are corrupt. There needs to be an independent investigation!
The man on trial had admitted shooting Mr. Kem Ley, a government critic. But glaring holes in the case, which recalled past assassinations, raise troubling questions.
